Eric Lindstrom received his undergraduate degree in economics in 1983 and his law degree in 1988 from Texas Tech University. He was admitted to the Texas bar in 1988, the Oklahoma bar in 2005, and in 2008, the Alaska bar. Eric is also admitted to practice before the federal Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals sitting in New Orleans, Louisiana, as well as all eight U.S. District courts in Texas, Oklahoma, and Alaska.
Eric has had a varied legal career, which has included practicing with lawfirms and being a sole practitioner, practicing with a mass tort plaintiff's firm, being a municipal attorney on Alaska's north slope, and practicing with Craddock Davis & Krause. A listing of Eric's previous and current practice areas demonstrates the range of his legal abilities: oil and gas law, creditor's rights, insurance defense, criminal defense, family law, plaintiff's personal injury, plaintiff's consumer law, municipal law, plaintiff's mass tort, consumer defense, warranty law, FELA defense, and construction litigation.
Eric has well over 30 jury trials and over a dozen arbitrations. Eric also has had substantial experience in appellate law, having handled over 20 appeals. Eric's name appears in at least a half dozen reported appellate cases involving oil and gas, criminal and consumer law. Eric is also a qualified mediator, able to mediate any kind of case in the firm's offices or elsewhere.
Presently Eric works with a number of the firm's clients. This work includes defense of manufacturers on warranty and consumer protection act claims; defense of a major railroad on Federal Employers Liability Act (FELA) claims; and construction litigation. This work takes Eric all over Texas and Oklahoma, and occasionally to other jurisdictions where Eric has been admitted pro hac vice, to practice in a particular case.
Eric is married and has five children. Much of Eric's time outside the firm is spent attending his children's sporting and school events. Eric also enjoys taking his family camping and enjoying the outdoors.
Eric and his family's Alaska experience bears special mention. About a year ago, Eric took a temporary leave from Craddock Davis & Krause and he and his family moved to Barrow, Alaska, to experience life in rural Alaska. Barrow is located on the coast of the Arctic Ocean, approximately 330 miles north of the Arctic Circle. There are no roads to Barrow. The majority of the population on the north slope is Iņupiat Inuit, and Eric and his family experienced the wonderful culture of these hardy and resourceful people. Eric is grateful to Craddock Davis & Krause for indulging this amazing experience of living on the north slope among the Iņupiat, an experience which shall never be forgotten.
